“We’re passionate about our apples,” says Jay, as he proudly discusses the 32 acre orchard that has been in the Howell family since the 1820s. Jay and his family represent the 7th & 8th generation on the farm and while conscientiously respecting successful cultivation practices begun in the past, they have introduced timely innovations. Today, refrigerated storage space, a processing facility and a retail shop enable year round production and marketing of fresh pasteurized cider and many other apple-based products. A pick-your-own experience is regularly available and the annual Thanksgiving Open House offers an opportunity for visitors to enjoy the harvest and sample the extensive variety of Brantview apple delicacies.
