“We know our land, and farm to grow the best possible fruits and vegetables for taste and quality,” describes the guiding principles of the Howe family’s farming business. Glenn’s great grandfather, William, began farming in the area in the mid-1800s. The farming traditions have survived and evolved and have inspired Ryan, Rick & Kevin to embrace the family’s agricultural lifestyle. The Howe family’s ongoing respect for the environment has been duly recognized by local conservation authorities; notably, their innovative irrigation system, which enables judicious use of pond and spring water. A showcase for the specialty crops of Elgin County, the Howe Family Farm Market’ is popular with both local residents and tourists.
