“We try to raise animals the way they’d like to be raised,” says Geraldine Heffernan of the livestock on the 180 acre farm. “We raise them humanely and compassionately.” Since 1987, the Heffernans have raised a wide variety of animals. The farm is in transition between generations, and remains owned and operated by the family. Currently, we have a flock of 150 sheep, 150 goats, and about 5 sows, plus rabbits and a donkey.
