The Amherstburg Farmers Market is a welcoming, vibrant, open-air space offering a small but diverse, hand-selected lineup of farmers, makers, creators, local small businesses and charities. Open rain or shine every Saturday from 9am-1pm, May-October, this family-friendly, pet-friendly and accessible community hub also offers live music, homemade breakfast, fresh coffee, craft beer, various learning experiences and lots of friendly smiles, every Saturday during our 6 month season. The mission of the Amherstburg Farmers Market is to bring local businesses and the community together. We showcase local agricultural, baked goods, artisan craft products, as well as products and services offered by businesses and non-profits. Our market facilitates public interest in the consumption of high-quality products, and cultivates an environment focused on healthy eating, local attractions and a strong community relationship – thus supporting rural economic development and inspiring human connection. The host of the Amherstburg Farmer's Market since our revival in 2020 is GL Heritage Brewing Company, an award-winning Community Builder, who opens their facility, washrooms and patio for all to enjoy during market hours. This gem of a brewery is agricultural-based, small batch, and founded/owned/operated by a hometown family on a 7 generation century farm. GL Heritage's deliberate and well-known focus on local collaboration and high quality artisan offerings has made for a successful and growing partnership for our small town, community-based market.
